Early Life
Adam22 was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, United States where he grew up with his parents and siblings.
Adam22 took up BMX riding at a young age and loved hip-hop music, particularly the phrase from Gucci Mane’s popular song “Bricks,” “I’m ballin’ like an athlete but got no Jumper.”
No Jumper, the title of his upcoming blog, was inspired by Gucci Mane’s song. Adam22 has frequently made this known during interviews and on his podcast.
Philip J. Grandmaison, the father of Adam22, who was one of the former president Bill Clinton’s initial supporters in 1992, was close friends with Clinton.
Clinton pardoned Adam22’s father in December 2000 after he had previously been found guilty of voter mail fraud in 1996.
Career
Adam22 launched the BMX website The Come Up in 2006. Subsequently, he founded ONSOMESHIT, a BMX bike team and apparel brand with a past shop location on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.
Adam Grandmaison originally started No Jumper as a Tumblr site in 2011, where he paid other hip-hop-oriented article writers to write about music.
The site evaluated rare Gucci Mane mixtapes and shown early interest in underground musicians like SpaceGhostPurrp and Clams Casino, treating the underground with “critical attention.”
Adam22’s No Jumper, a youtube-hosted podcast that was revived in 2015, focused on speaking with rap artists and influential figures in pop culture.
The channel had more than 1.1 billion video views as of january 2022. As a BMX podcast featuring vlogs about his life running onsomeshit’s retail business, it first began as a BMX podcast.
