Early Life and Education
Emmanuel was born on 5 February 1997 in Kano, into the Mbah family, as their only child. Though he hails from Imo State in the southeast, his family was living in Kano at the time of his birth. When religious tensions escalated in the north, he moved with his grandmother to their hometown, Eziama Ikeduru in Imo State, at around age six, where he spent much of his childhood.
He completed his early education in Kano and Imo State, earning his West African Senior School Certificate from Eziama Ikeduru Commercial Secondary School in 2013. He later obtained a National Diploma in Marketing from the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, and, in 2019, relocated to Bangkok, Thailand, to study international business at Siam University.

Career
Emmanuel’s modeling journey took off after secondary school while he was working at a guesthouse in Port Harcourt. He was signed by the Dhabry modeling agency in 2012 and began auditioning for major competitions. Early attempts included the Glo Ultimate Model Nigeria audition and Mr Tourism Nigeria in 2013, but success didn’t come immediately.
His big breakthrough arrived in 2016 when he won Mr Teen Nigeria, outshining more than twenty delegates from across the country. During his reign, he carried out philanthropic projects, including donating food, clothing, and other essentials to over 2,000 inmates at the federal prisons in Owerri.

He later represented Nigeria at the Mister Model International pageant in Bangkok in 2019, where he won the African Continental Champion title. In January 2020, he signed with Apple Management, a Thailand-based modeling agency, becoming its only African model at the time.
In 2021, he made history at the Mister Global pageant in Thailand, becoming the first Nigerian to reach the top 17 in the competition’s history. He also took home the Mr Popularity Award that year, and later founded Misters of Nigeria, a pageant organization that now runs franchises for four international male pageants.

Filmography
Emmanuel ventured into acting in 2016, appearing in two Nollywood movies: Sparking Stone and Child of Mercy. He has continued to build his screen presence over the years, with credits including the 2023 film Sibe. His charisma and camera experience have made him a familiar face on Nigerian television and in media appearances.
Personal Life
Emmanuel Somto is not married and does not have a wife. He keeps his romantic life private, though he once revealed a long-held fantasy of marrying Nollywood icon Genevieve Nnaji, despite their 18-year age difference, in a 2020 interview.

Net Worth
Emmanuel Somto’s estimated net worth is between $500,000 and $1 million as of 2026. This valuation accounts for his international modeling contracts, brand ambassador roles (including his high-profile deal with Oppo Mobile), acting fees, and earnings from his Misters of Nigeria pageant franchise.
