Yemi Amodu began his entertainment journey in 1983 as an actor, poet, and talking drummer while still in high school. In 1989, he joined Ace Studio (later DBN TV) as a trainee editor, where he learned editing on U-Matic and Betacam SP formats, along with cinematography and sound recording.
Over the years, he worked in multiple production roles including continuity manager, sound recordist, production manager, and assistant director, building a solid foundation in all aspects of filmmaking.
In 1992, Amodu produced his first movie, Evil Rise, shot on U-Matic format. By 2002, he had advanced to directing and acting in Afonja, and in 2004 directed Erin Lakatabu, which received official classification from the British Board of Film Classification.
