Early life and education
Shepherd Bushiri was born in Lilongwe, Malawi, he grew up in Mzuzu. He was born to a Malawian father and a Zambian mother.
He attended the Moyale Secondary School for his secondary education and graduated from Therapon University

Shepherd was born to a mother from Zambia and a father from Malawi. The circumstances of his birth led to his mother naming him “shepherd.” About his parents or siblings, not much is currently known.
Career
Shepherd became well-known after he made public a video purporting to show him walking in the air. Based in South Africa, Bushiri is the pastor of the Enlightened Christian Gathering, a charismatic evangelical Christian non-denominational congregation.
Shepherd owns Shepherd Bushiri Investments, an investment firm that has been linked to multiple fraud and money laundering allegations. Following the collapse of a Ponzi scheme it managed and the defrauding of pensioners, several of the company’s assets were seized by law enforcement.
On February 20, 2018, Bushiri opened a multimillion-dollar hotel in South Africa as one of his projects. The hotel is among the assets that South African police have taken after Bushiri ran away and skipped bail. Shepherd went into business and today he is regarded as one of the richest pastors in the world and among the wealthiest Africans.
Personal life
He is married to Mary Bushiri. They have two daughters together, isrealla and Raphaella.
Israella, his first daughter died at the age of 8 in Kenya after a lengthy lung disease.
