He came into the limelight in 2017 with his song “Resume“, and the release of his breakthrough song “Brothers” which led him to sign with Columbia Records that same year. Lil Tjay was born and raised in the Fordham neighborhood of the Bronx, New York City. He is 22 years old as of August 2023. According to reports, he was raised by a single mother and has two younger siblings in what is described as a “roomy” apartment on 183rd Street in the Bronx.

Legal Issues
On January 16, 2023, Lil Tjay was arrested in the Bronx, New York, and was placed in police custody, following a traffic stop. He was later charged with weapon possession and a court date was set for February 14, 2023. Meanwhile, it is unknown whether the rapper attended the trial, and what the outcome of the trial was.
In June 2023, Lil Tiay and American Director Fakedell’s film crew were arrested for a firearm used during the shooting of a music video.
