Early Life and Education
Jessica Cediel is the daughter of Virginia and Alfonso Cediel, and she has two sisters, Melissa and Virginia. She was born on 4 April 1982 in Bogota, Colombia.
She attended and graduated from the University of La Sabana with a bachelor’s degree in Social Communication and Journalism, and while she was still a student, she was crowned Miss Bogota, which opened the door to many opportunities.
Career
Modeling and TV Presenting
Jessica worked for a couple of small Colombian media companies before moving to Miami; she began as an advertising model for magazines such as “Paparazzi,” while also appearing in several commercials, and later as an entertainment host on the “Bravissimo” TV show.
She continued to host the RCN TV show “Muy Buenos Dias” before moving on to “Nuestra Semana, nuestra tele” and then to “Estilo RCN.”
She relocated to Miami in 2014 and became the host of “The Fat Man and the Skinny Woman,” a Univision American Spanish-language entertainment news show for which she is now famous.
She left that job at the end of 2015 and began working as a presenter on “Premios Juventud” and “Sal y Pimienta” in 2016. She is currently working on the Telemundo-aired “La Voz U.S.” American singing competition TV series for aspiring Latino singers aged 18 and up.
Acting
She’s also an actress, having appeared in telenovelas like “Hasta Que la Pata Nos Sepa“, “Historias Classificadas“, and “Los Graduados” as well as films like “Todas Para Uno“, “Condorito“, and “Nadie Sabe Para Quien Trabaja“. She is also a trained dancer, but she is currently focusing solely on her hosting and acting careers.

In 2012, Jessica won the TV Novelas Award for the Best Entertainment Presenter for “Our Week” show. She was also nominated for the same award for the same show in 2014 and again for the same award for her performance in RCN “Style” show in the same year.

She is known to have dated pop-star and pin-up Pipe Bueno for five years before leaving Colombia to pursue her dreams in 2014-she claimed they were madly in love but couldn’t handle a long-distance relationship and thus split.
Jessica recently stated in an interview that she is ready to love again and hopes to have children soon.
In November 2016, it was publicized all over cyberspace that Jessica was in a romantic relationship with Jessie Vargas.
Vargas is an American-Mexican boxer of whom Jessica met in Miami when she was supposed to interview him about his fight.
It was later discovered that they were mere rumors which could not hold any drop of water when Jessica Cediel clarified during an interview with La W Radio that she is not in a relationship with anyone and is currently single. She said:
‘I’m single, I’m single, happy, calm, working, dedicated to my family.’
Encounter with Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise was in Times Square promoting his blockbuster “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” when he noticed Jessica and immediately began flirting with her. ‘She’s a Sophia Vergara-Penelope Cruz type, very good-looking.’ She was dressed in a short white skirt, ‘Her midriff was showing, high heels and black top,’ said one of the witnesses.
He kissed her on the cheek before leaving; they became very friendly. She posed for a photo with him and showed him a video on her phone. They spoke for about ten minutes.’
According to rumors, Tom later asked for her phone number, which she gave him, but it’s unclear whether the two of them ever spoke again.
Surgeries
Jessica has had two surgeries, the first to raise her eyebrows and the second to have buttocks plastic injections, but things did not go as planned, and she ended up with multiple scars and black marks on her back that were not supposed to be there.
She had to go through additional procedures just to get rid of those scars and look normal again. She sued her surgeon for 400 million pesos, but it’s unclear whether she won.
