Born in Accra, Ghana, to Nigerian diplomatic parents, Sola David-Borha spent her early years between Ghana and Nigeria.
She completed her secondary education at Queens College, Yaba, Lagos, graduated with First Class honors in Economics from the University of Ibadan in 1981 and earned an MBA from Manchester Business School in 1991.

Career
Sola David-Borha started her career in the financial industry in 1984 at NAL Merchant Bank, which was affiliated with American Express at the time. She then moved to IBTC in 1989, where she steadily climbed the ranks through various roles in investment banking and corporate banking.
As IBTC grew and merged with other financial institutions, she took on leadership positions, eventually heading investment banking for the African continent outside South Africa.
After Standard Bank Group acquired IBTC, she became Deputy CEO of Stanbic IBTC Bank and took charge of international banking operations across Africa. She later served as the CEO of both Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC and its holding company.
