Senator Okey Ezea, who represented Enugu North Senatorial District, passed away on November 18, 2025, at a private hospital in Lagos after a short illness. His family clarified that he died in Lagos, dispelling earlier claims of him passing away in the UK.
The 62-year-old lawmaker had a history of diabetes complications and had received treatment abroad before returning to Nigeria. He was the only Labour Party senator from Enugu State in the 10th Senate and was known for sponsoring bills including the establishment of the Federal College of Agriculture in Adani.
Ezea is survived by his wife, Chioma, and four children. His passing is mourned nationwide, with many remembering him as a principled and dedicated legislator.
The family requests prayers during this difficult period.
