Early Life And Education
Saweetie was born Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper on July 2, 1993, in Santa Clara, California, to a multi-ethnic family. Her mother, Trinidad Valentin, is of Filipino and Chinese descent, while her father, Johnny Harper, is African-American.
She spent her childhood in Hayward and Sacramento, attending various high schools before graduating from Monterey Trail High School. Saweetie started writing music at 13 and later pursued higher education, studying communication and business at San Diego State University and the University of Southern California, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2016.
