Early life and Education
Rosala was born as Rosalia Vila Tobella on September 25, 1992, in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, a small town in northern Barcelona, and raised there.
She is the youngest daughter of businesswoman Pilar Tobella, who has been running the family business for decades.
José Manuel Vila, her father, divorced her mother in 2019. Pilar “Pili” Vila, Rosala’s older sister, works as her stylist and creative director.
Rosalia, like many other artists, discovered her love of music as a child. When she was seven years old, she was asked to sing in front of their family gathering.
She received a guitar as a gift from her parents two years later, which inspired her to enroll at Catalonia College of Music at the age of 13.
The singer later became interested in flamenco, a popular music genre in southern Spain.
She studied flamenco and music production for eight years under the tutelage of Andalusian musician José Miguel “El Chiqui” Vizcaya, graduating in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Flamenco and Music Production.
Career
During her early years, the 30-year-old was a familiar face in bars and restaurants, not for any other reason than to sing. She even competed in the talent show ‘T S Que Vales’ in 2008, but was eliminated early on.
She never gave up and used the outcome as motivation to keep working hard and pursuing her dreams. She would post her songs on her YouTube channel, which drew more attention from the public.
Rosalia released her first album, Los ngeles, in 2017, followed by her second album, El Mal Querer (Bad Love), in 2018. Both albums were written entirely by Rosalia.
The celebrity began to attract a number of companies interested in her work. She signed a deal with Sony Music Spain in August 2018. Her star continued to shine, and in June of this year, she signed another global record deal, this time with Universal Music Publishing Group.
She has worked with a number of notable artists, including Spanish trap artist C. Tangana, flamenco singer Roco Márquez, and Latin pop star J Balvin, among others.

Personal Life
Rosalia had a relationship with rapper C. Tangana in 2016. Antes de Morirme is a song they wrote together (Before I Die). The couple, however, divorced in 2018.
Rosala began dating Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro in March 2020. In 2022, they paid €2.2 million for La Morera [ca], a modernist house on the outskirts of Manresa that had been designated as a cultural asset of local interest.
