Early Life and Education
Paul Adefarasin was born on January 25, 1963, in Ijebu Ode, Nigeria, to Joseph Adefarasin, a Nigerian High Court judge, and Hilda Adefarasin, a Jamaican and women’s rights activist from Lagos State.
He is the brother of Rev. Wale Adefarasin and Apostle Yemi Adefarasin, both well-known Nigerian Christian ministers. He grew up in both Nigeria and the United States.
Adefarasin went to Ikoyi’s St. Saviour’s School and Yaba’s Igbobi College. He completed his secondary education at Haileybury College in England, where he was born.
He went on to earn a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami. He also received a Diploma in Christian Ministry from the International Bible Institute of London.
Career
Paul Adefarasin worked as an architect for Baldwin, Sackman, and Carrington Architects in Florida. He was a drug addict until his repentance in 1994.
He attended the International Bible Institute of London after his conversion. He began as a volunteer, and after that, he became the pastor of Action Chapel in London.
Pastor Paul Adefarasin founded the House on the Rock Church in his mother’s living room in Lagos in 1994, with only a few attendees. Today, the living room church has grown into a Ministry with over 50 branches in Africa and Europe.
As a visionary, he followed God’s leading to establish the Lagos Gospel Musical Concert, The Experience which debuted in 2006.
The Lagos Experience has become a landmark event that attracts today’s gospel music greats. The likes of Travis Greene, Sinach, Nathaniel Bassey, Don Moen, Donnie McClurkin, Tope Alabi, Planetshakers, Chioma Jesus, Eben, Onos, Sammie Okposo, Todd Dulaney, Mercy Chinwo, and many others have all performed at this concert which is one of the most viewed and streamed Gospel concerts online and on Television across Africa.
Personal Life
In June, 1995, Pastor Paul Adefarasin married his wife, Ifeanyi Adefarasin (born September 16, 1972), a former beauty queen who is now a respected minister and conference speaker known for her clear and practical message of hope and empowerment.
They have three children named Alvin Adegboyega, Hilda Adebola, and Alexander Adekunle. Bishop T.D. Jakes, his spiritual father, provides him with direct access and mentoring.
In 2011, Pastor Adefarasin released a music album. It was a collaborative project with Nigerian musicians like Niki Laoye, Segun Obe, Sammie Okposo, and saxophonist Mike Aremu.
He founded the Rock Foundation, which works with the church to provide social and humanitarian services such as rehabilitation and empowerment for ex-convicts, urban miscreants, prostitutes, and drug addicts.
As a former drug addict, he is well motivated to preach against all social vices that plague humanity. He is well-known for his publicly broadcasted show, Something Is About to Happen
