Nigerian comic actor and content creator Bamidele Tope Saint, popularly known as Okemesi, tragically passed away on February 24, 2026. His colleague Jeff Owolewa, known as Tony Montana, announced the news via an emotional Instagram video, confirming the actor was pronounced dead at exactly 11:50 a.m. in a hospital.
Okemesi slipped into a coma due to complications from medication administered during a recent hospital visit. He had been experiencing severe weakness, sleeping excessively, and eating little in the days prior, leading to multiple hospital transfers before his condition worsened critically.
Weeks earlier, Okemesi publicly appealed for help amid health issues he described as a “demonic spiritual attack,” leaving him crippled and homeless. Fans rallied, securing him a new apartment just two days before his passing, along with medical support.
Known for hilarious comedy skits, Yoruba films, and online content, Okemesi gained fame through platforms like De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt. His versatile roles in Nollywood and social media endeared him to audiences across Nigeria.
The Bamidele family authorized the announcement, with Okemesi’s body taken to the mortuary. Further burial details will be shared soon, as tributes pour in from the Nollywood community and fans.
