Veteran Nollywood actor Tom Njemanze has passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, following a long struggle with prostate cancer. The revered actor had been ill for some time, with fans and colleagues appealing for support toward his medical treatment.
Tom Njemanze gained widespread recognition in the 1990s for his compelling performances in Nollywood classics such as Died Wretched, Issakaba, Osuofia in London, Tokunboh, and Pounds and Dollars. His powerful acting style and memorable roles left a lasting impact on Nigerian cinema.
His death has deeply saddened the Nollywood community, with many industry peers and fans expressing condolences and honoring his legacy. The news was confirmed by film producer Stanley Ajemba Chibueze (Stanley Ontop), who had previously sought assistance for the actor’s medical bills. Tom Njemanze was 76 years old.
