Christian Chukwu, a legendary figure in Nigerian football, has died at the age of 74. His passing occurred in Enugu, his home state, early on Saturday.
Chukwu was celebrated for his leadership as captain of the Super Eagles, guiding the team to its first Africa Cup of Nations victory in 1980. He also led Enugu Rangers to numerous domestic and international titles, including the 1977 African Cup Winners’ Cup.
