Born on May 28, 1966, in Lansdowne, Cape Town, Nazli faced early challenges, including losing her mother when she was an infant and being raised by her grandmother from age eleven.
She attended Portia Primary School and began ballet training at the Carol Shapiro School of Ballet at age six.
