Early life and Education
Genoveva was born on May 8, 1995 in Enugu, Enugu State. She is 28 years old as of August 2023. She was born as the second of two children to Gaius Umeh (Father) and Ifeoma Umeh (mother). Her father is a computer engineer while her mother is a nurse.
Genoveva had her primary education at Command Children’s School, Enugu. She then proceeded to Command Day Secondary School, Enugu where she had her first year of secondary education before migrating with her family to the United Kingdom in 2006. She completed her secondary and A-level education at St Marys C of E High School in London, United Kingdom. She later attended the Identity School of Acting, UK in 2012. Afterward, she obtained a degree in LLB Law from the University of Surrey, England, graduating with honors.
Career
After moving back to Lagos, Nigeria in 2018 to pursue her acting career. She wrote a one-woman stage play, “HOME”, which was performed at Lagos Fringe Festival in Lagos, Nigeria. She bagged her first lead role in the 2020 film “A Tune Away” which earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers Choice -Award 2022.
In 2022, she played the role of “Timeyin Ademola” in Netflix original and Nigerian’s First Netflix original crime thriller series, “Blood Sisters”. She also played the role of Zina in the young adult series “Far From Home”. In 2023, she plays the role of Chika in the fifth season of the MTV series “Shuga”. Some of her other movies include Survivors Guilt (2020), The Crazy Wife (2020), Lizard (2021), The Griot (2021), One Lagos Night (2021), IJO: A Love Story (2022).
