Early Life and Education
Born Racheal Desire Luzinda on August 15, 1984, at Mulago Referral Hospital in Kampala, Uganda, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luzinda.
Her father served both as a Cabinet Minister during Amin’s regime and later as a legislator. She began her education at Buganda Road Primary School, completed her O-Levels at Omega College, and A-Levels at Makerere High School.
She enrolled at Makerere University to study Development Economics but left after her second year to pursue music. Later, in 2020, she earned a Medical Assistant certificate from San Leandro Adult School in California.
Career
Desire Luzinda began her career in media, hosting live television programs on WBS TV between 2005 and 2007. She later co-hosted an evening radio show on Dembe FM in 2011. Around the same time, she was also building her music career, releasing her debut single “Nakowa Emikwano” in 2006.
Over the years, she released several albums and EPs, including Nina Omwami, Nkomyewo, Nyumirwa Nyo, Eliiso, and Transition.
In 2018, she shifted her focus towards gospel music, dedicating her work to ministry by producing worship songs like “Never Give Up” and leading worship events internationally.
More recently, she has released the EP Mubiite and the single Muntu Wange, continuing to blend her musical talent with her spiritual calling.

Desire Luzinda is a mother to her daughter, Michelle Heather Kaddu, who was born in 2004 and currently lives and studies in California.
