Early Life and Education
Collete Nwadike was born on April 6, 1991, in Makurdi, to Simon and Angelina Nwadike in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, Nigeria. She is the youngest among seven children, with five older sisters and one brother.
Though her family is originally from Nise in Anambra State, she spent her early years growing up in Makurdi, where she completed her primary and junior secondary education. Later, she moved to Lagos to finish her senior secondary schooling.
At age 16, in 2007, she gained admission to Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, where she studied English Language and Literature—a choice influenced by her passion for reading and Nigerian literature.
Career
Modelling and Pageantry
Collete’s career began with several auditions and modelling competitions throughout Nigeria.
After finishing as a runner-up in both Miss Earth Nigeria and Miss Global Nigeria contests, she won the Miss Tourism Nigeria title in 2014, representing Anambra State among 36 contestants. Shortly after, she was appointed Senior Adviser on Tourism for the Governor of Anambra State.
In December 2015, she represented Nigeria at the Exquisite Face of the Universe contest held in São Tomé and Príncipe, where she won the crown, becoming the first Black woman to do so, and also received the Best Evening Gown award.
