Early Life and Education
Aurore Mutesi Kayiranga is the daughter of Ladislas Kayibanda and Olive Mukazera and is the youngest of four. After moving from Burundi, she spent her childhood in Kigali.
She attended Petit Prince nursery school, Kimisange Primary School, St. Joseph’s School in Nyamirambo, and ETO Muhima.
Aurore earned a Bachelor’s degree in Construction from the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology, now part of the National University of Rwanda.
Career
Aurore’s career began when she won Miss Rwanda on September 2, 2012, at the age of 20, representing the Southern Province.
After winning the title, she also won Miss FESPAM at the 2013 Pan-African Music Festival in Brazzaville, Congo. She represented Rwanda at Miss Supranational 2013 in Minsk, Belarus, and was Rwanda’s first representative at Miss World in 2014.
Throughout her career, Aurore has been an advocate for social issues and has worked to empower young women in Rwanda.

Aurore Mutesi Kayiranga was formerly married to her then photographer Egide Mbabazi, but they divorced in 2021 due to personal matters, including accusations of infidelity.
