Early Life and Education
Scarlet was born on May 12, 1991, in Surulere, Lagos State, Nigeria. She is the daughter of Adetokunbo “Toks” Shotade, a well-known music producer, and her mother Mrs. A. Shotade.
She completed her primary education at Princeton School, her secondary education at Ogunlade College, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos.
Career
Scarlet began her career as a beauty pageant contestant, competing in Miss Nigeria, Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, and Miss Global Nigeria, where she was first runner-up. She won the Miss United Nations Tourism pageant in Jamaica in 2012.
In 2013, she appeared as a model in music videos and released her debut single “Catch Me.” She transitioned into acting in 2014 with the Africa Magic original series Scarlet.
She released an album called The Scarlet Letter in 2016 and joined the cast of the drama series My Flatmates. Her breakthrough role came in 2023 as the lead star of Wura, earning her critical acclaim.
