Early Life and Education
Born on 22 September 1992 in Benoni, Gauteng, Nomuzi grew up in the Rynfield area. She was raised alongside her older sister by her parents.
She completed her secondary education at St Dunstan’s College in Benoni before enrolling at Varsity College in Sandton to study Communication Sciences.
She left college in 2012 after winning the MTV VJ Search to focus entirely on her career.
Career
Moozlie started as a model and event MC before transitioning to television presenting and music. After winning the MTV Base VJ Search in 2012, she became a VJ for MTV Base.
She later joined VUZU and Channel O Africa and left Cashtime Life records in 2016 to become independent. That same year, she launched her own record label, Nomuzi Mabena Music.
In 2017, she released her debut mixtape Versus, followed by her debut studio album Victory in 2018. She has been active in various campaigns and shows and is regarded as one of South Africa’s leading female rappers.
