Sporting CP to rename stadium CR7 to honor Cristiano Ronaldo 1

Sporting CP, the Portuguese club where Cristiano Ronaldo started his youth football career is in talks to rename their stadium CR7 in a bid to honor the player.

The stadium which is called Jose Alvalade will now be called CR7 Stadium or CR7 Alvalade if talks goes well.

The club president, Frederico Varandas is reported to have held talks with members of the board who are said to have agreed concerning the plan which will see the club attract huge sponsors due to the global CR7 brand.

Ronaldo moved from Sporting CP to Manchester United where he emerged world best player before he joined Real Madrid and later moved to Juventus last summer.
