The Niger State Police Command have arrested a gang of three men responsible for vandalization of transformers in MI Wushishi, Farm Center, CKC Road Tunga, Peter Sarki Road, and Alovera Hotel Tunga, Minna in Niger State.
According to the Spokesperson for the Command, DSP Muhammad Inna Abubakar, who confirmed the arrest on Monday, September 17, said the suspects were arrested due to spate of transformer vandalisation, theft of electrical installations and other acts of sabotage on critical infrastructures in the State.
“11th September, 2018 at about 1030hrs acting on a tip-off a team of Police detectives attached to Tudun Wada Division arrested one Asama Ibrahim aged 18yrs, Sinanu Ibrahim aged 20yrs, and Gambo Dauda aged 16yrs, all ‘m’ of Kafin Tella area Tunga Minna for vandalization of a transformer located at Kolawole Road in Tunga, Minna. During investigation suspects confessed to the crime. Exhibits recovered include eight (8) pieces of armored cables valued one million, two hundred naira only (N1,200,000.00). Case will soon be charged to court.” Abubakar said.
