Atiku and Buhari meets with others to sign peace accord

Atiku and Buhari with other presidential candidates met today in Abuja to sign the second National Peace Accord for the forthcoming elections.

The event which saw Atiku and Buhari comes together is organized by National Peace Committee held at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja with the candidates, pledging to ensure that the elections are conducted peacefully.

Former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Chairman of National Peace Committee, urged the candidates to adhere religiously to the spirit of the peace accord.

He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) and the security agencies to abide by their oath of office and act accordingly.

Former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon urged the candidates to counsel their supporters against violence and intimidation.


“Speak directly to your supporters, let us have peaceful elections and let us respect the observers,” he said.

Also speaking, the representatives of international communities, said the world is watching Nigeria and urged Atiku and Buhari with other candidates to place the country’s interest above theirs.
