Some youths believed to be from a faction of the Rivers state All Progressives Congress, APC, storm the State Judicial Complex in Port Harcourt.
The invaders lock the High Courts under the watch of the Nigerian Police to allegedly prevent ruling on a motion aiming to restrain Saturday’s Local Government (LG) Congress of the party.
According to report, some persons including a person who was in the court to hear his case were beaten by the APC youths at the Port Harcourt High Court, Rivers State.
A lawyer, Wori N Wori, told newsmen he was at the court yesterday and witness the motion for an injunction filed by aggrieved APC members to stop Saturday’s Ward Congress and that it was in an attempt to arrest the ruling on the motion today that has resulted in the defendants faction’s locking the courts.
But an APC chieftain, Nancy Stephens ijokpor has come out to deny Wori’s comments, she said “the party was not aware of any case against it and that the faces who locked the courts were not APC’s.”
At the time of filing this report, a gang of alleged People’s Democratic Party youths parade in and break the locks on the court complex, which results in shooting around the area.
